Funding for the Public Housing Program is decreasing, at the same time public housing properties are aging and in need of many expensive repairs or improvements.  The PHA is in the process of exploring options for more stable funding sources.  At the same time, the PHA is also exploring ways to reduce costs.

Notice of Public Hearing - Amendment to the PHA Agency Plan

The PHA has drafted a proposed amendment to its Annual Agency Plan for its Fiscal Year 2018 (that began 4/1/2017).  The PHA is exploring alternative strategies to preserve the deeply affordable rental assistance that public housing properties provide.  A public hearing on proposed amendments to the Agency Plan will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, 2:00 - 5:00 PM, at the McDonough Homes Community Center.

PHA Board Meeting

The PHA Board meetings are held at the Central Administrative Office in the Board Room on the fourth floor. The next regular business meetings will be held on August 23, 2017 at 10:15 A.M. and September 27, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. 

Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher Landlord Orientation

Landlord orientation is a free one-hour session that provides both prospective and existing landlords an introduction to how Section 8 works in St. Paul. The sessions are held at the Central Administrative Office on the third floor. Public Housing Waiting List Opening

The St. Paul Public Housing Agency (St. Paul PHA) will begin accepting online applications for family apartments with 3 and 4 bedrooms on January 17, 2017 and continuing until further notice. Applications are also being accepted for efficiency and one-bedroom apartments in PHA hi-rise buildings.

Rent Payments

Beginning June 1, 2015 the PHA will no longer accept rent payments at our Central Administrative Office. Rent payments may be paid by mail or online.
